We introduce you to Muscat during a half day city tour. It begins with a visit of the majestic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a religious landmark of Muscat and splendor of unique Islamic architecture (Ladies should cover their head with a scarf and wear long-sleeved clothes. Men should wear long trousers and t-shirt with sleeves, the mosque is closed on Friday). We continue to Mutrah Souq, which is a great opportunity to buy frankincense, gold, silver and other souvenirs. Enjoy the drive along the beautiful Corniche to old Muscat for a photo stop at Al Alam Palace. On the way back to the hotel, we stop for a picture at the Royal Opera House.

After breakfast, enjoy the drive along the coast towards Bimah Sinkhole, Wadi Tiwi until Sur which is an ancient boat building capital of the region. Depending on the season, turtle watching could be experienced (additional fee).

On the way to the desert, we will stop in Wadi Bani Khalid to walk over the falaj into this beautiful oasis with its clear blue water pools. Enjoy the ride up the desert dunes for a stunning sunset later in the day.

After breakfast, visit a Bedouin family and experience the life in the desert, they provide the option to ride a camel. We continue to Birkat Al Mouz to visit the UNESCO Falaj Al Katmain and drive under date palm trees before we drive up the majestic mountain range Jabal Akhdar on 2,000 meters height. The cool climate is perfect to walk along the falaj and through the ancient villages.

We drive to Bahla for a photo stop of a panoramic view before we visit the famous castle of Jabreen, built between 16th to 17th centuries by Imam Balʿarab ibn Sultan. Continue to Misfah with its mud buildings and agricultural terraces on 1,000 meters height before heading to Nizwa for overnight.

Visit the local Souq that is renowned for its hand-carved “Khanjars” (daggers), dates souk, pottery, ornamental silver jewelers and much more. We continue to Wadi Bani Awf where the off-road adventure is awaiting you. After crossing the majestic mountains, the Batinah region is welcoming us and we visit the ancient Al Hazm castle on the way back to Muscat.
