place DELHI - SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, you could explore the contrasts between New & Old Delhi with an English-Speaking guide, including drive past the Presidents Palace, Houses of Parliament, and impressive India Gate with its eternal flame. Continue towards Old Delhi with an English-Speaking Guide pausing on the way at Rajghat, the monument to Mahatma Gandhi erected on the site of his funeral pyre. Drive past Red Fort followed by a visit to Jama Masjid Mosque that can accommodate up to 20000 people at a given time and explore the Bazaars through the bustling alleys of 500 years old city – Chandni Chowk, where silver merchants ply their trade. Visit local attractions exclusive to Old Delhi including Asia’s largest spice market where your senses will get alive. Experience local culture, see some hidden heritage treasures and panoramic views of the old city and interact with different business owners who are doing business from several generations. Also enjoy tuk tuk ride in narrow lane of Chandni Chowk. Visit Humayun’s Tomb - the monument that served as a model for the Taj Mahal and beautifully restored by Aga Khan Foundation. later Visit the Sikh Temple “Bangla Sahab Gurudwara” where the community kitchen serves free meals to thousands of people a day. Where you all people can work as voluntary (if you want). After breakfast visit of Mehrangarh Fort built - by Roa Jodha in the 15th century with an English-Speaking Guide. It is amongst the largest fort in India and unsurpassed for its grandeur, elegance, and details. Drive past Jaswant Thada, the mausoleum is built out of intricately carved sheets of marble. These sheets are extremely thin and polished so that they emit a warm glow when illuminated by the sun. If time permits, explore the bazaars around the clock tower to shop for Juttis, Antiques and all the wonderful spices that Jodhpur is famous for. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Today you travel to Udaipur, the romantic "City of the Sunrise" on the edge of Pichola Lake. It is often referred to as the most beautiful city in India. On the way, you will visit the magnificent Adinath Temple in Ranakpur, which is particularly impressive by the variety of filigree architectural details. Not one of the 1444 ornate columns resembles the other in its design. The temple is one of the most beautiful holy sites of Jainism, a religion found only in India. After breakfast, explore the city with an English-Speaking guide, including the 16th-century City Palace, a flamboyant and towering structure sitting on a hilltop, and one of the largest palaces in the state, boasting spectacular views and an intriguing museum. Explore 17th century Jagdish Temple, dedicated to Hindu God Krishna. Discover Saheliyon ki Bari, the ‘Garden of Maids’, which boasts lush lawns, stunning lotus pools, marble pavilions, and even elephant-shaped fountains! Evening boat ride on Lake Pichola (shared basis). The beautiful stretch of water surrounding the two marvelous structures the Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir is the lifeline of Udaipur city. All the palaces in the city of the palace are constructed to have a magnificent reflection in this lake. Later, you will get an insight into the cultural heritage of Rajasthan by watching the Dharohar dance show at Bagore ki Haveli. Overnight at the hotel.

In Amber, you will see magnificent palaces with walls covered with mirrored mosaics. Visit City Palace where the present Maharaja continues to live with its many regal courtyards, temples, and pavilions, proceeding towards the world’s largest stone Observatory (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - The observatory consists of fourteen major geometric devices for measuring time, predicting eclipses, tracking stars' location as the earth orbits around the sun, ascertaining the declinations of planets, and determining the celestial altitudes and related ephemerides, drive past to the five-story Palace of the winds. In the evening enjoy a cooking demonstration with a local family in Jaipur. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, continues to drive to the former capital of the Mughals Agra. The legacy of the Mughal empire has left a magnificent fort and a liberal sprinkling of fascinating tombs and mausoleums, and there’s also fun to be had in the bustling chowks (marketplaces). Proceeding towards Chand Baori (Stepwell), located in Abhaneri. Chand Baori is known as one of the oldest, deepest & largest step wells in India. En route Visit Fatehpur Sikri, (UNESCO World Heritage site) - the deserted, but perfectly preserved sandstone city, built by Emperor Akbar but abandoned after only 15 years. This is a 500-year-old city built in red sandstone on the outer skirts of Agra. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

You have an early start this morning by going out to the Taj Mahal (closed every Friday) with an English-speaking guide, to experience the rising sun. This is the most spectacular time to see the Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world, an exquisite monument of love, remarkable for its perfect proportions, which was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved consort Mumtaz Mahal. This beautiful mausoleum in pure white marble is an architectural marvel (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Return to the hotel for breakfast & enjoy the surroundings. After lunch visit Agra Fort (a World Heritage site) with an English-speaking guide - a magnificent citadel with marble palaces, ornate alcoves & terrace pavilions. Agra fort is also known as the Red Fort situated on the bank of the river Yamuna. The fort was built in red stone; the fort stretches almost 02 km on the bank of the Yamuna. Explore an Old city tour with an English-speaking guide, this is a walking tour in the old bazaar of Agra city, known as Kinari Bazaar. This bazaar belongs to the first capital of Mughal emperor Akbar. It was founded & named Akbarabad by emperor Akbar. Explore old streets, old shops, Jama Mosque, Temple, Clothes markets, Spice market & Old Havelis, etc Visit Mehtab Bagh (evening) along with an English-speaking guide, a popular area in the north of the compound of the Taj Mahal, Mehtab Bagh. The garden was one of the 11 gardens established by the Mughals near the river Yamuna. Ram Bagh was the first garden to be constructed. It is reported that Emperor Mughal, Shah Jahan, had seen this spot and opted to see the Taj Mahal from some distance. Mehtab Bagh gives you a spectacular night view of the Taj Mahal. Varanasi is more than 3000 years old city and is famous as the city of temples. Varanasi is the holy pilgrimage city for Hindus where they come to take a dip in the river Ganges. It is a melting pot, where both death and life come together. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13

place VARANASI - SIGHTSEEING

Morning boat-ride with Sitar on the Ganges to see the sunrise and witness the unforgettable spectacle of pilgrims ritually bathing themselves, priests invoking the dawn, people washing clothes or practicing yoga, and funeral pyres burning on the famous “ghats” that lead down to the holy river. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later proceed to visit Sarnath just outside Varanasi, where Buddha gave his first sermon, preaching the way to final Nirvana (soul deliverance from re-birth). Sarnath is as holy to the Buddhists as Varanasi is to the Hindus. Here you will witness the ruins of a once-flourishing Buddhist monastery. Also explore the city tour of Varanasi visiting Bharat Mata Temple, BHU, and some other important temples. In the evening take cycle rickshaws to the ghats of the river to see the Aarti on the river Ganges. An aarti is a devotional ritual that uses fire as an offering. It's usually made in the form of a lit lamp, and in the case of the Ganges River, a small diya with a candle and flowers float down the river. Overnight at the hotel
