Kigali Airport to Kigali
Prior to arriving in Kigali, Rwanda, you are required to obtain a negative PCR Covid-19 test certificate from your country of residence with the test having been administered no greater than 72 hours prior to departure. Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, you will need to go through immigration and get your visas on arrival and get another Covid-19 PCR test. Then, you will be welcomed by your driver who will be waiting for you to drive you to your hotel in Kigali. You will need to remain in your hotel for 24-hours while waiting for the test results to come back.

Kigali on your own. Kigali has been beautifully rebuilt over the past 20 years in the land of a thousand hills. As the capital of Rwanda, Kigali is a bustling centre with tree-lined streets and both modern and traditional architecture. High-rises and colourful houses dot the lush green landscape of valleys and peaks. The city centre stands on one of these peaks and the latest additions to the skyline include BCDI Tower and Kigali City Tower which houses the city’s premier cinemas

Kigali City Tour and transfer to Ruhengeri
After breakfast on Day 3, go for a town tour of Kigali city to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial and local markets, before embarking on a 2-hour drive to Ruhengeri where you will stay at the foothills of the Virunga Mountains.

Gorilla Trekking
In the early morning of Day 4, go for your gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park. If you are not too tired after your trek, you can go for a nature walk to view the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Volcanoes National Park is home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains and is known as a haven for mountain gorillas. The park is fascinating in that its altitude ranges from about 2,500m to 4,500m (the peak of Karisimbi), sheltering bamboo forests and some of the last remaining afro-montane forest habitats on the planet. After briefing from the senior park ranger, you will commence your memorable gorilla tracking tour which normally takes 2 to 6 hours in the jungle. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of the gorillas for a maximum of 1 full hour.

Transfer to Kigali Airport for your flight to Nairobi Airport
Transfer to Kigali Airport for your flight to Nairobi Airport. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Int’l Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. Welcome to Kenya! Nairobi is Kenya’s capital and largest city. Home to Nairobi National Park, it is the world’s only major city with a game park. The city offers many urban parks and open spaces, the most famous of which is Uhuru Park, which borders the central business district. Other highlights of Nairobi include David Sheldrick’s Elephant Nursery, open daily from 11 am to 12 pm, Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Museum, and Galleria Shopping Mall.

After breakfast visit Giraffe Center and David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage on Day 6. Then, you will embark on a 2-hour drive to reach Soysambu. Your camp is located on the shores of Lake Elmenteita within Soysambu Conservancy. You can visit the bird hides and go for a guided bird walk at Soysambu Conservancy. You can also enjoy a night game drive at Soysambu Conservancy during your stay (at extra costs).

Lake Nakuru National Park Day tour
On Day 7, go for a day trip to Lake Nakuru National Park, for a chance to see flamingos and rhinos! Sanctuary for Rhinos Lake Nakuru is a sanctuary for the endangered black rhino, white rhino, and Rothschild giraffe. A UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as a RAMSAR site, impressive numbers of buffalo, waterbuck, warthog, and baboon, are frequently seen in the park. You may also see a leopard, cheetah, Verreaux’s eagle, or a large python dangling from a tree! Lake Nakuru’s alkaline waters often attract flocks of flamingos; however, depending on the availability of algae, they may fly north to Lake Bogoria.

Flight to Lewa Downs
After breakfast on Day 9, you'll be transferred to Loldia Airstrip for your flight to Lewa Downs, whereby you’ll be picked up for your transfer to Lewa Conservancy. Enjoy full days of game drives in the conservancy. Walking safaris are available, subject to weather conditions

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy
Spend the day at the Sanctuary for Rhinos on your own. Originally a rhino sanctuary on 5,000 acres, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy has blossomed into 65,000 acres of vast wilderness sprawling over the Laikipia plains. Today, Lewa is home to 10% of Kenya’s rhinos and 20% of the world’s population of Grevy’s zebra, both endangered species. Lion, leopard, and jackal thrive on the rich diversity of prey that inhabits the area. Lewa Safari Camp is the only tourist facility within the Conservancy that is owned by the Conservancy, offering authentic and exclusive comfort to its visitors with large tented bedrooms and private verandahs. It was at Lewa that Prince William of Wales proposed to Catherine Middleton in 2010.

After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to reach Kalama Conservancy in the Samburu District. Enjoy day and night game drives and bush walks in this unique part of Kenya, known for its scenic beauty.

Explore Northern Frontier District Samburu National Reserve lies on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River in the Northern Frontier District of Kenya. On the other side of the river lies Buffalo Springs National Reserve. This region is famous for the "Samburu Special Five" - the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and Beisa oryx. All three big cats - Maasai lion, Tanzanian cheetah, and leopard - can be found here. Elephants, buffalo, Grant's gazelles, impala, olive baboons, Kirk's dik diks, and warthogs can also be seen. Over 350 species of birds call this region their home. Some colourful ones include bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbills and yellow-necked spurfowl. Watch for crocodiles and hippos in the river!

On Day 13, you will be dropped off at Kalama Airstrip for your flight to Mara-Siana. Enjoy a scenic transfer to get to Olarro Conservancy. Enjoy a few days of game drives in this wildlife-rich area of Kenya. If you are lucky, you may see the start of the Great Migration herds, if they migrate early in July.

Enjoy the day in Maasai Mara The Maasai Mara is the north tip of the Serengeti ecosystem, which stretches west to the Grumeti and Ikorongo Reserves, east to the Loliondo Game Controlled Area, south to the Maswa Game Reserve and southeast to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Maasai Mara is composed of the National Reserve, which borders Serengeti National Park, as well as numerous conservancies that are sparsely populated with tourist establishments. The Great Migration moves into the reserve from late July to October every year, in search of greener pasture to graze. It makes for a spectacular phenomenon!

Flight to Diani Beach via Nairobi
Enjoy your last morning in the Maasai Mara on Day 16, before transferring back to Siana Airstrip for your flight to Diani Beach via Nairobi. On arrival at Ukunda Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your resort. Enjoy your beach holiday at leisure. You can sign up for excursions and day trips to Wasini Island with a local tour operator in Diani.
