08:30 Am: Today's drive is from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho. Youll start by driving for two hours to Ben Tre, the gateway to the Delta. Here, you will board a small boat to start your tour around the waterways of the Mekong Delta. Known also as the rice bowl of Vietnam because of its large rice production, the area has also diversified into activities related to aquaculture, rearing animals, cash crops and fruit trees. This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a fishermen's "floating village" with floatting schools, floatting police station, etc. It is same as a big village floatting on the lake, and the "village" move from place to place following water levels and curant.
