You may head to the bustling area of Dotonbori, where the lights are bright and the food signs make for whimsical sights. We recommend trying some of the must-try foods in Osaka, Takoyaki (ball-shaped snack), Kushikatsu (Japanese deep-fried skewered meat and vegetables), and Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake).

Stroll through the picturesque Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, and visit three important temples and shrines: Kinkaku-ji temple (Golden Pavilion), Ryoan-ji temple—known for its Zen garden, and Fushimi Inari shrine - known for rows of bright orange torii gates. You’ll also walk into the Gion district where you might see a geisha. The combination of traditional buildings and night blossoms is magical!

Shirakawago, nestled in the Ono district of Gifu prefecture, is easily accessible from Kanazawa, stroll around Myozenji Temple Museum and the temple, founded in 1748, are located on the north side of the Shirakawago village. Shirakawago was registered as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The main attraction of the village lies in its gassho-zukuri (a traditional building style) farmhouses. Experience Edo-period Japan in the Takayama and in the UNESCO-listed Shirakawa-go village. You will have your lunch at your own expense in Takayama first,which is filled with interesting sights and is the gateway to the Japanese Alps.

After breakfast, check out and take a train to one of the most famous onsen areas, Hakone. Experience a Ryokan stay that will take you back to the traditional Japanese lifestyle.
