Begin Your Scenic Rim Experience!
Spicers Hidden Vale Retreat is the meeting point for your Scenic Rim region experience. Upon arrival, you'll meet your guide for a welcome and introduction. Spicers Hidden Vale is a historic 12,000‐acre former cattle station, some of the buildings are over 100 years old. After a short walk and visit to the wildlife sanctuary, you'll join the market garden tour, learning about the produce and unique methods used by the chefs at Spicers Hidden Vale before your unique dining experience.

Five-Hour Hike from Hidden Vale to Mount Mistake Farmhouse
After a hearty breakfast, you'll board your purpose-built 4WD to be transferred through the private nature reserve to the Scenic Rim Trailhead. Over the next five hours, you'll slowly ascend through the private Nature Refuge. As you climb higher through the western part of the Scenic Rim, you will learn about the history and ecology of the region. Your first day of walking is rewarded with the most incredible views along with the range, stopping for tea and lunch in the best spots.

Eight-Hour Hike from Mount Mistake to Amphitheatre Eco-Cabins
Today, you'll pass over from Spicers land into the Main Range National Park. As you venture forward, you will feel the forest folding in around you. Walking through living history makes you truly appreciate those who fought for national park protection in the region. Today’s walk is smooth going and relatively flat so while its the longest day by distance it’s easily achieved. As you walk into camp you’ll see the light coloured wooden treehouse-like cabins set above the forest floor.

Eight-Hour Hike from Amphitheatre Eco Cabins to Timber Getters Eco Cabins
Setting out after breakfast, today you'll explore a number of ecosystems venturing deep into the national park. The lookout vantage points early in the day offer a spectacular view of Mount Castle. You'll become enveloped by the canopy and this natural cover will provide cool temperatures throughout the day. From the source of Dalrymple creek with mountain spring water flowing, it is a gentle ascent into Timber Getters Eco Cabins.

Seven-Hour Hike back to Hidden Peaks Cabins
Enjoy your last breakfast in the main lodge at approximately 8:00am, after which the Scenic Rim Trail team will collect your bags and transfer you either back to the starting point to pick up your vehicle or back to Spicers Balfour Hotel in Brisbane. The walk will take around seven hours with a distance of 13 kilometres but the terrain is easy.
