place Clarendon Fresnaye, Cape Town

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will be met by your English-speaking guide. Transfer (included) from the airport to your accommodation. Overnight: Clarendon Fresnaye Rested in the idyllic suburb of Fresnaye, Cape Town, The Clarendon reflects a glamorous ambiance and posh exclusivity bar none. Cradled along the slopes of Lions Head, The Clarendon offers exhilarating views of the wrapping indigo ocean along South Africa's most beautiful coast. Here on the shores of the Atlantic, a wonderful place of rich green lawns and sparkling swimming pools, are set in a tranquil paradise against the backdrop of a mass of pink bougainvillea. Day 2

Today we explore the city of Cape Town and take a trip to the top of Table Mountain via aerial cableway where lunch (own account) can be enjoyed. For something truly unique and authentic, why not book a Bo-Kaap Cooking tour? This tour takes you on a voyage into the life, food, and culture of the Cape Malay’s in the Bo-Kaap area of Cape Town whilst offering you a hands-on, practical lesson on how to cook like a real Cape Malay Áuntie’! Another way to explore the local scene is to visit one of Cape Town’s many night markets! Most of the post-sunset souks boast everything from artisanal food and drink to live music and quirky clothing (more details can be sent upon request). Day 3

place Clarendon Fresnaye, Cape Town

We explore the beautiful Cape Peninsula with visits to Boulders Beach, home to a breeding colony of over 2000 endangered African Penguins, and the beautiful Cape Point Nature Reserve with lunch (own account) at the Two Oceans Restaurant. Other attractions which can be visited in the afternoon include the V&A Waterfront (South Africa’s most visited attraction) Robben Island, where former president Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the Houses of Parliament, Green Market Square, Company Gardens, the Castle and Slave Lodge to name but a few. At the foot of Devil’s Peak, the tattered suburb of Woodstock is fast becoming Cape Town’s new art center. Worn Victorian buildings are getting new licks of paint, while derelict warehouses are being transformed into swish art galleries. Today, the gallery names lining the streets read like a who’s-who of the local contemporary art scene and marks the area a must-see for all art lovers. For something really extraordinary why not enjoy high tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel. This historic hotel is an appropriately regal setting for a scrumptious afternoon tea. Day 4

This morning we leave Cape Town and travel to the lovely coastal town of Hermanus. Here you can spend some time at leisure, do optional activities such as land-based whale watching (July -November) or opt for a whale-watching or marine cruise. Entrance fees and/or excursions are not included but can be booked upon request Overnight: One Marine Drive Boutique Hotel Located in Hermanus, One Marine Drive Boutique Hotel overlooks Walker Bay with beautiful views and is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Each of the seven en-suite bedrooms has beautiful sea views with private balconies. All rooms have free Wi-Fi and are air-conditioned. We travel back in the direction of Cape Town and end off our trip with two nights in the beautiful Cape Winelands. Overnight: La Cotte Orchard Cottages La Cotte Farm, established in 1694, is uniquely situated a stone’s throw from the charming village of Franschhoek. It offers close proximity to the fun and bustle of the main street with all the quiet, privacy and rural charm of a working wine farm. This morning we depart for Cape Town International Airport where you will say goodbye to your guide and take a flight to Hoedspruit where you will end off your trip with a safari experience. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by a lodge guide and transferred to the lodge. Time permitting embark on your first open vehicle game drive. Overnight: Simbavati Camp George Set alongside a dramatic escarpment, a dry riverbed and a natural garden, Simbavati Camp George captures the true the essence of a classic Simbavati Safari escapes and captures a new mood of adventure. Designed for families and friends, this intimate lodge comprises eight luxury suites, each with its own private deck.
