Explore Kangaroo Island
Today, your local guide will give you an introduction to life on the island, showing you why this particular isle is said to offer some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the country. Free from many of the introduced predators of the mainland, Kangaroo Island is a unique setting that also allows for some amazing wildlife sighting opportunities. With your naturalist guide, you’ll search for koalas feeding on eucalyptus leaves and see various species of wallabies and kangaroos, some of which can only be found on this particular island. Enjoy some more homemade cakes and a ‘cuppa’ for morning tea. Then, at lunch, you'll find yourselves in a private bush setting enjoying some amazingly fresh and tasty local island produce, along with an assortment of famed South Australian wines and beers. After lunch, you’ll head to the southwestern end of the island to the spectacular Flinders Chase National Park - a wilderness spanning almost 200,000 acres! It’s home to a wide array of wildlife including ‘roos, wallabies, possums, iguanas, echidnas, koalas, platypus and countless birds, including the rare Cape Barren Goose. At Cape du Couedic, you’ll visit a fur seal colony of nearly 50,000, catch a glimpse of the island’s remote lighthouse and finally, head on to see the aptly-named Remarkable Rocks. This is a day to hike, drive and explore the many sights and experiences of Kangaroo Island, with your private guide always able to tailor your day to suit your needs.
