Day 1

place Welcome to The Land of Smiles

Congratulations on making it to Thailand and to the bustling beating heart of the country, Bangkok city. On arrival in to Suvarnabhumi International airport (airport code: BKK) you will be met by your guide who will transfer you to your first destination; Chinatown. Depending on the time of your arrival, you can freshen up and unpack before meeting your guide in the lobby for an informal chat and laid-back welcome before we take a short stroll through the surrounding streets and hidden soi's to show you Chinatown at night!

Day 2

place Bangkok City Tour

Following breakfast and a more detailed orientation of your trip with us you'll head out to properly explore this exciting city. Starting in the heart of Chinatown means you're perfectly located to start in the historical region, the original Bangkok. From here, weather permitting, we'll take a stroll through the side streets, enjoy a white-knuckle canal boat trip, take a look inside some of the city's most beautiful temples and learn first-hand how the City of Angels goes about the day to day. This evening, once we've showered away the day, we'll head to a popular local restaurant for an official and traditional Thai welcome meal and perhaps a few cocktails in one of the chic backstreet bars.

Day 3

place Shop til you Drop!

One of the many things that Thailand does extremely well is shopping, and in particular, markets! There are several iconic markets in Thailand and one of them we're visiting today. The Maeklong Railway Market is a location that needs to be seen to be believed! This market is draped over a live railway track, yet as the trains arrive, all of the stalls are expertly folded away leaving just enough space for the train to pass through with little hinderance. Once the trains passed by, out come the stall again and the market gets back to life. It really is the most incredible sight to see and a photographers dream! Once back to the hotel we'll get showered and packed before we take a transfer to Bangkok's railway station and the wonderful night train north to Chiang Mai. On board you have your own bed and bedding for a comfortable sleep so that you can arrive in Chiang Mai refreshed and ready to carry on.

Day 4

place Chiang Mai City

As dawn breaks on the train we'll be in the jungle foothills of Chiang Mai; a complete opposite to the concrete jungles of Bangkok. On arrival in to the train station we transfer to our next hotel located on the edge of this ancient city. Once we've checked in and enjoyed a bite to eat we'll head out for a walking tour of this charming city. Once the capital city of the ancient Siam empire, Chiang Mai is dripping in history, yet has embraced the modern and has almost European city feel to it. This evening, for those with the energy, we'll take a walk to the buzzing night Bazaar to check out the arts and crafts of the local artisans. A great place to people watch, buy some one-off gifts, grab a cold drink and pick your way around the countless food stalls.

Day 5

place We're Off To Meet The Elephants!

For many, today is the big day! We'll transfer for approximately 1-hour in to the jungles surrounding Chiang Mai and off to one of our supported elephant camps. Once we've arrived at the camp we'll receive a briefing from the team, an introduction to the stars of the show and learn more about our plan for the next two days. Whilst we're here we'll be helping out with the upkeep of the camp, from cleaning to washing to repair work to preparing meals for the elephants. There won't be much downtime but to be in the company of these majestic beasts will keep you energised and buzzing from the moment you meet them - we promise! Please be aware that the work that needs to be completed here will depend on several factors including the requirements of the camp, the weather, the number of people in the group and more. We will update you on your plan as early as we can and make sure you're properly prepared to make the most of your time here.

Imagine taking your morning tea or coffee as you watch the elephants grazing in the jungles, well that's the morning you'll have here! Once you've had your breakfast we'll finish off any projects or work that needs it before we freshen up and transfer back to Chiang Mai and to the airport for our 2-hour flight south to the golden beach-fringed island of Phuket. On arrival we transfer to the most popular beach resort on the island, Patong beach. Once checked in to your accommodation you have free time to enjoy the pool, head to the beach, take a stroll around the shops - the choice is yours. In the evening we'll head out to explore the local area and can find a place for an island dinner as the sun sets.

Day 9

place Let's go to the Koh

Thailand has many islands in her archipelago and each has her own attitude and personality. Today we're taking you to one of the last to embrace tourism, the island of Koh Muk. Located roughly 3-hours by road from Phuket, we will depart early as we need to reach the only ferry crossing of the day at 11:30am. it's then a 30-minute ferry crossing to a car-free island that is like being in Thailand 30-years ago. Almost completely undeveloped yet with a few very nice resorts, the community on this island lives off the land and the sea. Once we've checked in to our next accommodation we'll head to the beach and give you more information about this wonderful, laid-back island. This evening we've arranged a special welcome dinner for you all to celebrate yet another beautiful location.

place True Island Life

Koh Muk is a real smelting pot of cultures, all whom coexist peacefully and in true harmony. The cross-culture exist so well because all of the locals are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. This cross-cultural atmosphere means there's a lot to learn and discover but today we'll show you the most important of these, the food! You'll be taking a genuine, locals cookery lesson to hone your culinary skills before tucking in to a feast for lunch! This afternoon, to burn off those calories we'll take you on another boat trip and we'll discover the reason for the name of the Emerald Cave. The perfect ending to a wonderful day.

Day 11

place Back to the Big Mango

Sadly, today is the day that we depart the south and head back to where it all began, back to the Big Mango, back to Bangkok. We'll transfer from Koh Muk to the airport at Trang - approximately 1-hour away, and then it's a 2-hour flight back to the capital. On arrival we'll transfer back to our original hotel where there'll be plenty of time to freshen up before we head out for a final night farewell dinner with your guide. By now you'll have become very close with your guide so feel free to share photographs and memories, but please leave your guide with us for the next group to enjoy!
