Day 1

place Welcome to Thailand - the 'Land of Smiles'!

Congratulations! You've made it to Thailand, or as we prefer to call it, The Land of Smiles. On arrival at Suvharnabumi International Airport (airport code: BKK), once you have collected your luggage, you will be met by one of our team. We transfer you to your first hotel located in the bustling heart of Bangkok city with a private driver, in the Chinatown district. Depending on the time you arrive, you'll have time to check-in and freshen up before meeting your guide again for an informal chat, a quick walk around the local area and a refreshing drink or two. If you arrive late at night, you can have a much-needed rest and meet your guide for breakfast the following morning. Whichever way, welcome. We hope you're excited because you're in for a truly unforgettable journey!

place Bangkok city | First-class night train to Chiang Mai

Once you're up and refreshed, head to the restaurant downstairs to meet your guide. You'll receive a more brief introduction to your program with updates and news on exactly what's happening on your tour today! Following this, we'll head for a fun, interesting and informative tour of the city. During the tour, you'll be introduced to Thai culture and customs, learn about the do's and don'ts, see the much-revered temples, and dine on some seriously mouth-watering street food. In the afternoon, we'll return to the hotel to prepare for our journey north. Once we're packed, we'll take a very short trip from the hotel to the train station to board the must-experience night train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Each traveller gets their own bed with fresh bedding and pillow supplied. Soak in the countryside views as you pull out of Bangkok into the heart of Thailand. Then, time for a great night's sleep as the slow-moving train gently rocks you to sleep so that you arrive in Chiang Mai refreshed and ready to go.

Chiang Mai is a genuine highlight of Thailand. The city's quaint coffee-shop culture, tree-lined avenues, and laid-back lifestyle draws millions of travellers each year. Today, we show you around the walled old town, stop at Doi Suthep Mountain, and introduce elements of the unique mixture of Thai, Laotian and Burmese culture that intermingle here. In the evening, we head to the Night Bazaar for dinner and to visit the local artisans who display their unique and handmade crafts for sale.

Here, we join several of the daily on-site activities and receive a true understanding of the plight of these incredible animals. All done safely in the knowledge that our interactions are ethical, humane and sustainable. We do not, in any way, support elephant riding, or the forcing of elephants to 'put on a show' for visitors. However, you will have the opportunity to get up very close to these animals in a safe and responsible way - for both you and the elephants.

You've fed them, cleaned them, swam with them, and the organisation that runs this sanctuary could not be more grateful for your support. Your visit really does make a difference in the lives of these elephants and the incredible humans who take care of them. Please remember, we do not, in any way, support elephant riding, or the forcing of elephants to 'put on a show' for visitors. However, you will have the opportunity to get up very close to these animals in a safe and responsible way - for both you and the elephants.

Day 7

place Beach Time Begins in Krabi!

The more tropical portion of your adventure starts in Krabi! This chilled-out beach town is the perfect place to rest and recharge after 3 eventful days full of elephant adventures. Ao Nang Beach, just a short walk from the hotel, is a postcard-worthy paradise and perfect for a stroll under the palm tree-lined boardwalk. The boardwalk runs just along the teal-blue waters of Aonang Beach and the Andaman Ocean, offering top-notch restaurants, a range of spas, and plenty of unique shopping options for loved ones back home. Krabi is surrounded by towering limestone karst peaks and lush jungle. You will feel like you are tucked away on a secret island but this landlocked location definitely has that laid-back island feel. The sunsets from Aonang Beach cannot be missed! And group dinner is included so get ready for a tasty feast. The hotel pool is also first-rate and the beach is just a short walk from where you call home for the evening. You can make this day as relaxing or eventful as you wish. Your guide and our team are always available to suggest additional trips or optional experiences.

Day 8

place Ready for Railay Beach? | Day 1/2

After an evening in Krabi, we head just down the coast to remarkable Railay Beach. Here, you will be surrounded by teal green water, pristine beaches, and towering limestone peaks. As Railay Beach is located on a peninsula, this stunning area is only accessible by boat - further adding to the allure! Day one includes a guided tour of Railay Beach and the surrounding beachside jungle. When you see stories and news talking about the beautiful beaches of Thailand, this one is usually the example used! The water is crystal clear, glowing teal green and the towering limestone peaks frame this unbelievable scene. Top of this unforgettable day with sunset from your seaside hideaway - Avatar Railay Hotel!

Good morning, Railay Beach! Soak in the quiet morning and soft waves crashing as you enjoy a delicious breakfast. Eat up, today is full of fun in the sun and you will need that energy. Grab some beach time or a walk after breakfast and then we're off for a half-day of rock climbing before a kayak trip along the Andaman Coast. The views from both the climb and the kayak are absolutely unforgettable! We can hardly explain how stunning the limestone mountains are that surround this area, but when you see them, you will understand. Railay Beach is a true sight to behold and this day explores some of the most exciting parts that it has to offer. Then chill out for sunset on the beach or head back for a rest at the super comfortable hotel. The food at the hotel restaurant is absolutely fantastic and needless to say that the views are hard to beat.

Day 10

place Koh Mook Island! | Day 1/2

From the tourism-centric island of Krabi, we head further south to the quiet and hugely underdeveloped island of Koh Mook. Here, the fishing and farming industries play the most important role as these are the two main sources of income for the local community. The only way on and off the island is by ferry, adding to the mystique of this tropical paradise. There are no cars here, only motorcycles with sidecars and bicycles. Many liken Koh Mook to destinations such as Koh Samui and Phuket around 30-years ago. But don't worry, you're not stepping back in time, you're blazing a trail! Once the wonders of Koh Mook get out, travellers will be arriving in droves to experience this picture-perfect island and the slow-paced lifestyle it offers.

place Pure Paradise In Koh Mook | Day 2/2

After a legendary first day, time for another day in paradise! Remember, there are no cars here, only motorcycles with sidecars and bicycles. Stroll the serene, shop-lined streets, wander down the beach, explore the lush jungle, and sit back with a book (or beverage) on the beach. The diversity of the landscapes, the stunning vistas, the teal-blue sea, and the genuinely warm smiles and kind disposition of the local people all make Koh Mook such an appealing destination. Visiting here is like a jump back in time, in the best way possible. One visit to the Fisherman's Market and you'll understand how friendly this island community is to visitors. Today will include a riveting boat trip to Emerald Cave and a sea fishing trip. Jump in and cool off or just sit back on the boat and soak in this virgin paradise. After, sunset is a must as you enjoy your last evening on the stunning, getaway island.

Our flight from Trang to Bangkok will take around 2-hours with a quick transfer back to the W22 hotel in Chinatown. Once checked-in, we'll freshen up before heading out for a final feast in a very popular local restaurant. Here, we can reminisce on the adventure through Thailand, swap stories and photographs and should you wish to extend the night further, your guide will be happy to show you a few popular bars, pubs, and markets where you can drink and dance the night away.
