Breakfast in the morning and free time till 16:45. Away from the shopping malls and tourist hotspots of metropolitan Bangkok, we’ll discover the western bank of the Chao Phraya River and the 3rd capital of Siam: Thonburi. Be ready by 16.45 we’ll ride through the Bang Rak neighborhood, head to the pier and take a ferry over to this less-traveled destination. Today, Thonburi is a vibrant local community of people and places that we’ll explore as we ride through the back streets that juxtapose with the imposing skyscrapers of downtown. We’ll take secret paths to the Turtle Temple, where these sacred animals are kept in a beautiful garden. This area is also home to a Sino-Portuguese community with a long and fascinating history. We’ll stop at a museum-café to learn about the history and taste the local pastries whose recipes have been passed down through generations. We’ll then change gears from these hidden enclaves and visit one of Bangkok’s greatest landmarks: The Temple of the Dawn, Wat Arun, as sunset and twilight descend and show us a different side to this majestic highlight. Leaving Thonburi behind, we’ll embark on another ferry and cross the river back into the city. Right at the pier we’ll scout for a little rooftop with views of the surrounding sites and enjoy a cold refreshment before we continue on. There are few ways to better enjoy the sites of Bangkok than to do so when most of the other visitors have retreated back to their hotels. We’ll visit the must-see Wat Po temple and enjoy an almost silent and magical experience where, only hours earlier, stampeding hordes clicked away with their cameras! As we start our way back to New Road Guest House, we’ll make sure to stop and admire the spectacular Flower Market where we’ll also enjoy some samples of authentic Thai street food. You will arrive back to Chamberlain Hostel approximately at 21.30.

The day is free at your leisure either join the pool or explore the temples. Later we pick you up (around 17:30) for a transfer to the pier at the mighty river Chao Phraya. Today is your last day in Bangkok after checkout we will take you to the airport in Bangkok for your flight to “the capital of the north” Chiang Mai. Arrive at the airport in Chiang Mai and a private transfer take you to your hotel. The hotel is in the old Lanna style. Lanna was the name of the kingdom before it was incorporated into Thailand. The rest of the day is at your own leisure to explore the city.

After breakfast You will be picked up from your accommodation in the morning between 8:00 and 8.30. Please be ready in the hotel lobby 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. We will travel by van to our base in Mae Wang, arriving around 9:30. At our Mae Wang basecamp, our team will introduce you to your tuk-tuk and begin your driving training. If you do not want to drive a tuk-tuk do not worry and just enjoy nature’s air-conditioning from the breeze in the backseat. The tuk-tuks are pretty easy to master and once everyone is feeling comfortable behind the wheel, we will head through tiny rural roads, snaking through farming villages and past rural temples. One of our guides will always drive the lead tuk-tuk, making sure that you do not lose your way and no one is tempted to go too fast! You will make frequent stops to explore and, more importantly, make sure everyone has an opportunity to drive. You will get great insight into rural life in northern Thailand; something that is not as easy to come across as you would think. By late morning, we will arrive at the elephant home where you will not only learn about the past, present and future of the Thai Elephant, but also have the opportunity to interact with them. Once you are introduced to the elephants – who have been taken out of a life of trekking and can now relax and enjoy their time more naturally – you will help the mahouts feed the majestic beasts. After you have fed the elephants, it is time to sit down to a feast of traditional Thai food right next to the elephants. You can continue watching them and seeing how they interact with each other. Once you have finished lunch, you will walk with the mahouts and their elephants through the local countryside and to the river where you will help the mahouts bathe the elephants – a fantastic experience for both you and the elephants! We will enjoy some water activities of a different kind as you lazily float along the local river on a traditional bamboo

After the breakfast in the morning private transfer to the airport in Chiang Mai for your flight to Surat Thani. Arrive Surat Thani airport in the south of Thailand and a transfer picks you up to your Khao Sok Treehouse and Lake Explorer. Upon arrival in Khao Sok, you can check-in at Our Jungle Camp Eco-resort and relax in your own private tree house. The night safari can take place in our jungle or the national park, depending on conditions.

This early morning after breakfast, it is time to begin your next big adventure. Cheow Lan Lake is right in the heart of Khao Sok National Park and there’s no better way to experience this unique location than simply staying on the lake. This tour offers a hiking trip through truly remote jungle, swimming, canoeing, cave exploration, boat wildlife safari and just relaxing amongst the stunning limestone formations. Once you finished the safari half-day and hiking through the jungle, it is time for you to return to the resort and continue to your last destination Phuket.
