Day 2

place Bangkok Late Afternoon City Tour

Today the morning is at your leisure and then in the late afternoon the journey begins. Bangkok’s Other Riverbank: Away from the shopping malls and tourist hotspots of metropolitan Bangkok, we’ll discover the western bank of the Chao Phraya River and the 3rd capital of Siam: Thonburi. We’ll ride through the Bang Rak neighbourhood, head to the pier and take a ferry over to this less-traveled destination. Today, Thonburi is a vibrant local community of people and places that we’ll explore as we ride through the backstreets that juxtapose with the imposing skyscrapers of downtown. Sunset with the Sino-Portuguese Community: We’ll take secret paths to the Turtle Temple, where these sacred animals are kept in a beautiful garden. This area is also home to a Sino-Portuguese community with a long and fascinating history. We’ll stop at a museum-café to learn about the history and taste the local pastries whose recipes have been passed down through generations. We’ll then change gears from these hidden enclaves and visit one of Bangkok’s greatest landmarks: The Temple of the Dawn, Wat Arun, as sunset and twilight descend and show us a different side to this majestic highlight. Leaving Thonburi behind, we’ll embark on another ferry and cross the river back into the city. Right at the pier we’ll scout for a little rooftop with views of the surrounding sites and enjoy a cold refreshment before we continue. Bangkok Night Biking: There are few ways to better enjoy the sites of Bangkok than to do so when most of the other visitors have retreated to their hotels. We’ll visit the must-see Wat Po temple and enjoy an almost silent and magical experience where, only hours earlier, stampeding hordes clicked away with their cameras! As we start our way back to New Road Guest House, we’ll make sure to stop and admire the spectacular Flower Market where we’ll also enjoy some samples of authentic Thai street food.

The wildlife watching area is open from 14:00 until 18:00. Visitors are recommended to visit the area in the late afternoon as there won't be much wildlife activity in the early hours as the wildlife gradually becomes more active from around 15:30 pm onward. Day 6

place Off to the remote Koh Kye Island

Be part of a unique expedition to a remote island in the bay of Chumphon, one of the most preserved beach provinces in South Thailand and an off-the-beaten-track destination that avoids the hordes of tourists found in the more popular Thai provinces. Meet your guide at 13:00, who will accompany you to Koh Kye Island for your amazing island camping experience. Your guide will give you a basic briefing on safety and the dos & don’ts of this pristine island and bring you to a fishermen’s village, from where you will receive your complete camping equipment package including a tent, sleeping bags, pillow, head lamps and some beach games. At the fishermen’s village, you will get your last chance to purchase snacks and drinks to bring with you to the island. Then follow your guide through the local community and hop on a traditional long tail boat for a 30-minute cruise to Koh Kye. Koh Kye has a unique feature which is different from many other islands. It is a “coral graveyard”, which takes the form of a white sand dune and is as white as an egg! A large number of dead corals has been gathering on this dune island since Typhoon Gay hit Chumphon in 1989. As time passes, rainwater changes the color of the dead corals to white, creating the natural beauty of this unique island. Koh Kye is a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by coral reefs and home to a dense jungle. This is where we will set up our camp for the night. Don’t worry, there are plenty of activities that await you, including snorkeling in the coral reef among hundreds of colorful fish, and participating in a fun beach volleyball tournament while the sun sets in the background. Just after sunset, enjoy a delicious BBQ prepared with freshly caught seafood and vegetables grown by Chumphon’s farming community. Enjoy the rest of the evening in good company under the stars while listening to campfire stories.

The dinner will again be a tasty BBQ of fresh seafood and vegetables.
