Day 1

place Arrival in Bari - Transfer to Vieste

Arrival at Bari airport. Private transfer to Vieste. Depending on your arrival time, visit Vieste, the pearl of Gargano, one of the most beautiful villages in the region, with narrow alleys where you like to walk and get lost, especially during the famous passegiata. Built of limestone, it offers magnificent white sand beaches, but above all it is the gateway to the Gargano National Park.

Accommodation:

  • Standard Accommodation: Hotel Falcone
Day 2

place Vieste - Monte San Salvatore

If you did not have time to visit the village the day before, take the time to discover it this morning! Stroll the many alleys, go for a walk to the market where you will discover local products, enjoy one of the terraces ... You can spend the morning there and even have lunch there, because the day's hike takes around 4 hours. Then, at the foot of the famous pizzomunno, this large monolith erected on the beach which, according to legend, is the petrified body of a young fisherman turned into stone because of the pain caused by the loss of his love, you leave Vieste behind you and enter the national park. You walk in the hills, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and fig trees. This evening, arrival at our first stage, a masseria, a typical farm in the region where you discover the excellence of products produced solely from family production. It is Pietro, his parents, and all their animals, who will welcome you with great pleasure! 4h walk Elevations: +500 / -200

There is another atmosphere waiting for you ... Then we descend and regain the sea, and discover beaches more beautiful than each other, overhung by cliffs jagged by the elements. A great discovery of the very varied landscapes of the Gargano promontory! Installation in a charming accommodation by the sea. 5h walk Elevations: +500 / -500

  • Standard Accommodation: Bed and Breakfast Masseria Liberatore
Day 4

place Mattinata - Monte sant’Angelo - Mattinata

Today, we discover the village of Monte Sant'Angelo, the highest village in Gargano, perched at an altitude of 800m, a village of immaculate white, seeming to come from another time. It is by one of the most ancient paths of Gargano that we will reach it, path used by pilgrims who wanted to reach Monte Sant'Angelo, and more particularly the San Michele sanctuary, the oldest sanctuary in Europe. West dedicated to the Archangel, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO. Going up to the sanctuary, the pilgrims carried with them a stone, the weight of which was proportional to the sin to atone for ... A panoramic path, immersed in nature and the typically "garganico" landscape. Return to Mattinata by bus. Possibility of making the way downhill. In this case, bus in the morning to Monte Sant'Angelo, and descent to Mattinata. 4h walk Elevation gain: + 550m (or -550m, depending on your choice)

The trulli are small constructions with conical roofs which served as temporary or permanent housing for peasants and agricultural workers. The transformation and rehabilitation process respecting the originality of the building has allowed Alberobello to be classified as a World Heritage Site. Today's hike will introduce you to the longest aqueduct in Europe, in a hilly landscape traversed by fields of olive trees and vineyards. Visit the village of Locorotondo, a village classified among the most beautiful in Italy. From there, short train transfer to Alberobello, then bus to Bari.
