Timeless Treasures of Luxor in a Day
Your adventure starts with an early morning pickup from your Cairo hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by your private Egyptologist guide and begin exploring the city’s world-renowned ancient sites. Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, where you visit the visitor center and receive a detailed introduction from your guide before entering the tombs independently, since guides are not permitted inside. Stroll through painted passageways filled with vivid hieroglyphics and marvel at the chambers that once held Egypt’s ancient rulers. If you wish, you may purchase an additional ticket to step inside the tomb of King Tutankhamun.
Your journey continues to the breathtaking Hatshepsut Temple, celebrated for its three terraces connected by wide central ramps and its remarkable preservation amid the cliffs. Next, stand before the colossal statues of Amenhotep III, known as the Colossi of Memnon, which were transported an extraordinary 700 kilometers from Cairo to Luxor to guard the pharaoh’s mortuary temple.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch on a Nile island, reached by a scenic boat ride. In the afternoon, you move on to Karnak Temples, the largest religious complex in Egypt, filled with towering pillars, ancient carvings, and expansive courtyards shaped by generations of pharaohs. After your exploration, you are transferred to Luxor airport for your evening flight back to Cairo, followed by a return to your hotel, concluding your unforgettable day.
Luxor, once known as Thebes, was a powerful city and religious center during Egypt’s New Kingdom period.
