Continue to Salona - Salona was first mentioned as an Illyrian town in 119 BC and it's thought that it already had walls by then. It became the administrative headquarters of the empire's Dalmatian province. From here you can get an overview of the foundations of buildings that compose the Episcopal Centre, including a three-aisled 5th-century cathedral with an octagonal baptistery, and the remains of Bishop Honorius’ basilica, with a ground plan in the form of a Greek cross.

One of the oldest Croatian towns on the Adriatic, Sibenik is famous for the Cathedral of St James which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Created initially as an ancient Croatian castrum, a fortification or encampment, at the bottom of St. Michael’s Fortress that still dominates the town, Sibenik was mentioned for the first time in 1066, in a document issued by the most important Croatian ruler - the king Petar Kresimir IV. 

Unique town of Trogir – beautifully set within medieval walls, its streets knotted and maze-like. It’s fronted by a wide seaside promenade lined with bars and cafes, and yachts in the summer. Trogir is unique among Dalmatian towns for its profuse collection of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture along with its magnificent cathedral, earned a UNESCO World Heritage status in 1997.
