Tierra del Fuego: Coastal Hiking and Canoe Adventure
After breakfast, your guide picks you up to begin a remarkable day in Tierra del Fuego National Park, located 10 km from Ushuaia. Trek the undulating 8-kilometer Coastal Path, connecting deeply with the Patagonian wilderness as you pass some of the park's most iconic sites. For those wanting a gentler hike, shorter and softer trails are available with advance request. When you reach the border of the Lapataia River, enjoy a hearty lunch inside a heated dome-tent, perfectly positioned for panoramic views and protection from the Patagonian wind or rain. After lunch, you’ll gear up with rubber boots, coverpants, and lifejackets for an hour-long canoe ride down the Lapataia and Ovando rivers, paddling until you reach the sea in Lapataia Bay—where the celebrated Route 3, also known as the Pan-American Highway, concludes its journey south.
Did you know? Tierra del Fuego National Park is the only Argentine park combining sea, forest, and mountain landscapes all within its boundaries.

Lakes Off Road: Into the Heart of Patagonian Wilderness
After breakfast, depart Ushuaia for an off-road adventure through a dramatic glacial valley, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The journey’s first highlight is Garibaldi Pass, the only road crossing the rugged Fuegian Andes Range, offering breathtaking views of Lake Escondido nestled far below. Leaving the paved road behind, you’ll continue along old forest tracks once used by loggers—now accessible only by robust vehicles—toward the vast shores of Lake Fagnano, Argentina’s fifth largest lake. Here, enjoy free time to walk the tranquil forest and lakeshore while your guide prepares a hearty meal served in a secluded natural refuge, far from modern distractions. Occasionally, for added comfort or convenience, a section of today’s route may be done by minibus if logistics allow.
Did you know? Lake Fagnano extends more than 60 miles across Tierra del Fuego, straddling Argentine and Chilean territory.

Trekking Esmeralda Lagoon: Alpine Scenery and Fireside Gathering
Enjoy free time in the morning to relax or explore Ushuaia at your own pace. In the afternoon, depart between 2:30 and 3:30 PM for a guided, medium-difficulty hike to the stunning Esmeralda Lagoon. The trail leads you across the often-wet expanses of Tierra Mayor Valley, where snow-capped mountains create a breathtaking panorama. The trek covers about 9 kilometers over three and a half hours, making it ideal for adventurous travelers with proper hiking attire. After reaching the unforgettable emerald-colored waters, retreat to a cozy cottage as daylight fades. Here, enjoy a memorable dinner and fine red wine, sharing stories with fellow explorers in the warmth of Patagonian hospitality.

Gable Island & Penguin Colony: Harberton Ranch and Beagle Channel Discoveries

Visit the Marine Mammal Museum and explore the surroundings of this historic Patagonian settlement. Next, board a motorboat for a scenic ride to Martillo Island, where you’ll witness penguins in their breeding habitat. Continue navigating to the wild expanses of Gable Island, where a rewarding lunch is served with Patagonian wine, soft drinks, and mineral water. Afterward, hike through beaver-dotted forests and cross dams to reach the rugged Beagle Channel coastline before returning by boat to Puerto Harberton and taking the bus back to Ushuaia.

Beagle Channel Navigation: Lighthouses, Wildlife, and Scenic Waters
After breakfast, your journey continues with a transfer from the hotel to the pier for a captivating catamaran navigation through the Beagle Channel. Set off from Ushuaia’s tourist dock, gliding past the city’s unique coastal profile at the base of the Andes Mountains before entering the famed waters of Paso Chico. Sail around Isla de los Pájaros, spotting Tierra del Fuego’s diverse birds including Skuas, Black-browed Albatrosses, Steam Ducks, Cauquenes, Cook Seagulls, and Gray Seagulls. Continue your voyage to Isla de los Lobos to view colonies of sea lions basking on the rugged rocks. Circle the iconic Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse—often misnamed the “Lighthouse at the End of the World”—and observe colonies of Imperial and Rocky Cormorants. Listen to the tale of the SS Monte Cervantes shipwreck of 1930 as you take in extraordinary views of the mountains surrounding Ushuaia. This scenic and historic journey reveals a new perspective on Patagonia’s southern frontier.
