Fiji consists of 322 islands, of which about one third are inhabited. The two most important islands are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Viti Levu hosts the capital Suva and almost three-quarters of the population live there. Other major cities are Savusavu and Lautoka. The main international airport is located in Nadi (pronounced Nandi) on the western side of Viti Levu, the opposite of Suva. Only 30 minutes drive from the airport is Denarau Island, a peninsula that offers a wide choice of luxury resorts with optimal conditions. Further south, the resorts of the Coral Coast offer a great Fijian style architecture and genuine surrounding villages. Among the closest groups of islands we have selected, are the Mamanuca Islands and Yasawa Islands. The islands are mountainous, with peaks up to 1200 m, and covered with tropical forests and bordered by beautiful beaches. Finally we also selected Vomo Island, halfway between the the Mamanuca and Yasawa groups, a small island full of treasures to discover with family or lovers.
