After breakfast and check out, depart for Ankara (4 hours drive), the capital and the second largest city of Turkey. By the arrival you will visit Anitkabir, the monumental tomb complex of Ataturk. He lived between 1881-1938 and he is the founder of secular Turkey. After the collapse of Ottoman Empire, he is the one who raised the country from its ashes. It is a huge complex. After visit here we will have lunch in a local restaurant close by Anitkabir and drive to old center of Ankara, visit Anotalian Civilization Museum. After check out you will have a journey to Ephesus area about 2.5 hours. Arrive Ephesus area and visit the ruins of ancient city. Early in the morning you will leave the hotel and have journey for 4 hours to Troya and visit Troya ancient city. Troya , Ilion in greek,Troia in Latin has a very different history than all the ancient cities you can visit in Turkey. First of all, location of the city is very strategic, it is just at the enterance of the dardenelos water canal at the narrowest point. For many centuries all the traders paid tax to Troya city to be able to enter the canal without any problem. This makes the city very rich and important. History of the city goes back to 3000 B.C. The most interesting fact about the city, at the same point 9 cities was built on top of each other, so city has 9 layers. Troya I dates back to 3000 B.C., and the last Troya is from Roman period. Troya is famous that greek colonists deceived and conquered city with a huge wooden horse that soldiers were hidden inside. At the entrance of the city you can see and take photos with a replica of the wooden horse. And then you will take a walk trought the city, you can see different layers and the great view of the dardenelos. Hagia sophia was built by Roman Emperor Justinianus between 532-537 A.D. This is first building to have such a huge dome in history. Till the conquest of Istanbul, it was used as a church and then it is converted in to a Mosque in1935. With the order of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Hagia Sophia served as a museum till 2020 and it is a mosque now. One of the most special building of all the times. Just in front of the Hagia Sophia you will see the three obelisks of the roman period and you will visit beautiful Blue mosque which is very famous with its blue tiles, the peak of ottoman cini art.
